About me
Hi, I’m David Webb – a Nashville native, husband of nineteen years to Kayla, and homeschooling dad of six.
I help established and senior homeowners in the Nashville area who are stressed and struggling to keep up with their home maintenance tasks and home improvement projects to feel proud of their homes, more comfortable in their homes, have more peace of mind, and more time for what matters most to them without the frustration of hiring contractors who don’t do what the say they will do, leave their mess behind them, or even having contractors be unfriendly and disrespectful.
I’m the person people go to when they want to hire one person for all their home needs, who is experienced, attentive to details, and who strives for excellent craftsmanship. That’s why I am constantly researching the newest standards and best methods for the longest lasting results.
Call me today and I can help you with:
-
Electrical or Plumbing repair and replacement
- Grab bars, ramps, and safety
- Drywall repair and painting
- Pressure washing and sealing decks, fences, driveways
My Story
I started learning to build as a child handing nails to my stepdad while he worked, then later learning how to drive them straight in solid oak beams as he was building an addition on my grandparents’ house.
I grew up in a home without money to hire out things, so I was taught how to be a generalist and do most everything myself – from smaller things like drywall patching and how to replace a breaker to larger scale projects with structural load and foundations.
I didn’t pursue a handyman career in my teens and twenties – I had other interests, but I was detailed and precise, and always had an entrepreneurial mindset – so I tried different small businesses, even doing pearl inlay on musical instruments.
After marriage, a few kids, and limited success in my other ventures, I shifted to the corporate world and worked in logistics for about 8 years, but the income wasn’t keeping up with my growing family, and there was little mental stimulation.
After several years of prayer, a fellow Christian co-worker of mine came up to me one day and asked “Can you do weeding and yardwork?” I had not previously spoken with him about needing another source of income. He proceeded to tell me about a friend of his who was doing some handyman work on the side, but he was moving and wanted someone skilled and reliable to leave his clients to.
I wasn’t sure how much time I had but my wife and I decided to give it a shot. I started with just a handful of yardwork clients, but as they discovered that I was much more than a yard guy and they started having me do other kinds of jobs and referring me to others, I soon became overwhelmed with work, working on Saturdays and before or after my other shifts.
I soon knew what I had to do. I left the company I was working for, and started working as a full-time handyman. For the last eight years, we have seen consistent growth, and I’ve done a vast array of projects – from hanging pictures and changing high eave light bulbs, to building decks, fences, and dozens of bathroom remodels (my specialty).
I love the variety of not knowing what each day will bring, and seeing the satisfaction on customers’ faces when I have just helped them solve a pressing problem that was causing them stress and anxiety. I love being stretched, trying new things, and building new skills, and through faith and perseverance, I look forward to serving my loyal customers for decades to come.
Why a Handyman?
I have always loved building and solving problems, but honestly I didn’t choose this business. After many years of confusion and prayer, God led me into this business, and I have found it a perfect fit for my skillset and have been able to make more money and have more flexible time for my family than before.
My family is most important to me, and I desire to instill in them a love for God, and a love for learning. I even get to bring one of the kids with me from time to time!
I enjoy seeing the relief and the joy on my customers’ faces when I have just helped to ease a burden for them, or helped to realize a vision they have had for their home for years.
Why Choose Home Remedies?
I will always do the right thing for my customers even if it means saying I’m not the right person for the job. I treat my customers’ homes like they are my own, and my customers with the respect they deserve. I will not pretend to be the best, most capable, most qualified superman of home improvement contractors. I work alone, and focus on quality, which means I am not the cheapest or fastest. I generally cannot compete (on price) when bidding larger jobs against larger companies who focus on speed and price only. Here, however, is what I do have to offer:
- Licensed, Bonded, and Insured – so if anything should happen – you’re covered.
- Wide range of services – to save you the time and frustration of dealing with a different person for everything.
- Experience – 8 years in full-time business, but a lifetime of experience – so you know the job will be right the first time with no callbacks.
- Constant Improvement – I’m always researching the latest standards and technology so you know you’re getting the best possible, longest lasting job.
- Craftsmanship – It’s not in my nature to be able to do a cheap job or rush though a project. You get what you pay for and I want you to feel assured you’re getting a high-quality job.
